From Backyard corner on the street

Back Porch

FLOWAH POWAH!

FLOWAH POWAH!

HANGIN FLOWAH POWAH!

BLURRY FLOWAH POWAH!

Drive way scattered with blossoms from trees

Front porch minus the beer drinking monkey (me) that usually occupies it.

Fence line needs some work

Impatiens die from frost so of course we've been having early spring frost.

They sure are pretty.

Back corner of yard from across the street

Front corner of yard from across the street

Far shot of front yard

One without the flash reflecting off stop sign

Big tree in front corner of yard

That tree lining the street is dropping all the white crap

20050430-18.jpg

Cant seem to get a good shot of the trees lining the blvd.

But I tried.

20050430-21.jpg

Otherside of porch, I really should paint the downspout covers, I didnt realize how tacky that looks, its usually covered by the bushes

Straight on front shot

Otherside of yard, where small sheds at.

looking down the street the otherway

20050430-26.jpg

Hrm, that swinging bench has some weathering.

20050430-28.jpg

20050430-29.jpg

Backcorner of yard is the next project

I think Ill just dump gravel back here, so I dont even have to mow.

Well, its cleaner back here than it was before

20050430-33.jpg

Another project, clothes line removal

20050430-35.jpg

20050430-36.jpg

Some people reccomended ripping this old concrete grill out, I like it because I can legally make open fire and fire is cool

Look up my nose!

screweing with camera settings, the subjects were a bit unwilling however

Coercion was not working

Even gratuitous sexual advances didnt work

Tried to get some long shots of the front since theres this nice long driveway upto union terminal

Its called cincinnati museum center now

Used to be cincinnatis “grand central” sort of

There are 3 or four mini museums and an IMAX theater in there.

The entrance

Parking on each side

Getting closer

IF we had time and I thought ahead, I woulda brang my tripod.

I didnt realize how unlevel my shots were until comparing similar ones

It isnt the most imposing structure EVAR, but it is pretty neat architecture

Facing away from the entrance

Fountain up front

I think I should come back later in the summer to see if they spruce the place up a bit with more color

And if its lit up at night, I bet night shots about here would look cool

20050430-56.jpg

20050430-57.jpg

I tried to climb up the fountain to get some differing shots, the cop standing behind me smiled upside down

Trying to walk up ledge of the fountain

Looking down from fountain

It looks like Im taking a whiz from behind the camera

20050430-62.jpg

Not bad, I think I screwed some setting on my camera thats making my shots a bit fuzzy. I dont think the overcast helped any either.

One of the murals inside the entrance

Fort washington

They did have an impressively large miniature of cinci, but its enclosed in plexi glass, I guess to keep people from spitting on the city

It made taking shots through it a bit difficult

The old stadium, crosley field, opened in 1912

Blasted plexiglass flash reflection

I cant remember the name of the old gothic building

20050430-71.jpg

Downtown

One of the old street cars

They had a cool WWII section with bits of memorabilia

nothing really to see, have no idea why I took this shot

streetcar interior

Her in streetcar interior

Some stereotypical family during the 40's, It woulda been more interesting if the man was swinging a bottle of whiskey around with a deranged look beating the wife and kid

20050430-79.jpg

20050430-80.jpg

How 'bout a nice warm cup of STFU! That sign just made me start laughing outloud. The other patrons were a bit peturbed

DONT DO IT! DONT ENLIST!

Trust me buddy, you DONT want me anymore

20050430-85.jpg

Japanese Army model 11 6.5mm-piece o' crap

Hey, big red one!

choo-choo

20050430-89.jpg

20050430-90.jpg

German mauser rifle, pretty sure its just a standard model 98

more choo-choo's

miscellaneous stuff, but the car is neat

Back when they still put the coke in coke!

General cincinnatus, illuminta conspiracy theorists need not apply

Famous Injuns

Injun trails around cinncinati, heh, they of course put Ft washington right at the intersection

Apparentl the reason Symmes is significant (there is a township named after him) is he was a rich white guy who bought all the land from injuns...and Im sure it was a fair price.

Marker of various stations, which Im were more interesting than cinci is nowadays, since back then, Im sure they had brothels!

A flatboat model, used to ferry cargo up and down the river to various locations

So cincinnati was originally created for “recreation” not much of that around here now.

A whole mockup of a turn of the century street!

This was actually pretty neat

They amazingly modeled a whole town street and theres only one damn saloon in the place! (and its right below a chapel?) That is NOT historical

Hmm, where does he have his hand?

Interior of steamboat mockup

20050430-107.jpg

Corss section of steam engine

Ooo! a parrot rifle!

rifle breach

The “not friendly” end

You can see the rifling grooves

20050430-113.jpg

Looking down the street

20050430-115.jpg

Again, I believe this owld be more accurate if the captain had a bottle of whiskey in his hands

Unloading the steam boat

Civil war era arms, the cavalry sharps carbine in the back was nice to see

Turn of the century manufacturing equipment (mostly machinery tools) all of it actually works.

I believe this one was from the early 20's

The poster is cool, I wouldnt mind having that hanging in the living room

20050430-122.jpg

Before they closed I wanted to try and get some better shots of the model

20050430-124.jpg

Fountain square, middle background

20050430-126.jpg

close up of fountain square

since the plaque is readable, no explanation required

Time capsule

On our way out, I tried to open it, again, the cops frowned and made threatening gestures

The actual skyline from the parking lot

20050430-132.jpg

20050430-133.jpg

The spire on this bldg was cool, so I snapped a few shots of it.

20050430-135.jpg

20050430-136.jpg

The end!
